Follow below steps to enable write protect your pen drive

    1.      Press “windows key + R” or click on start and search “Run” and press enter.

   2.    Now a new box will appear now type in the box as “regedit”.

   3.    Now navigate to the following: -

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\

  4.  Now just create a new key named as “StorageDevicePolicies”.

{To create new key Right click on Control and click on New->Key and create new key as “StorageDevicePolicies”}

   5.     Now right-click on “StorageDevicePolicies” and create a New->DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it as “WriteProtect”.

  6.    Double-click on WriteProtect and set the Value data to 1.

Now that the write protection is enabled for pen drive, no one can make your data as garbage as well as no one can delete it now you can say that your all data on that drive is fully write protected.

Follow below steps to Remove/Disable write protect your pen drive

   1.      Press “windows key + R” or click on start and search “Run” and press enter.

   2.    Now a new box will appear now type in the box as “regedit”.

   3.    Now navigate to the following: -

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\

   4.    Now click on “StorageDevicePolicies” and double click on “WriteProtect” and revert the value from 1 to 0 to remove the write protection from your pen drive.
